5 tips to maintain crotons

Crotons grow in variegated foliage featuring striking patterns in green, orange and yellow colours that can enhance your home decor. Here are five tips to maintain crotons.

Potting

Crotons require large pots that can anchor their tall growth. Opt for a sturdy pot with drainage holes below to prevent water accumulation in the soil.

Soil

Crotons grow healthy in well-drained, moist soil. Make sure the soil is not too wet.

Sunlight

Crotons thrive well in bright and indirect sunlight, giving the plant its vibrant and colourful leaves.

Dusting

When kept inside, dust can settle on the leaves of the plant. Gently wipe the leaves with a moist cloth twice a month to help keep the plant clean and dust-free.

Temperature and humidity

Crotons thrive well in temperatures between 60 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit. They prefer a humid environment. Mist them once or twice a week, or keep a humidifier nearby.
