5 ways to keep your skin hydrated in winters

The winter season often takes away the moisture from your skin, leaving it dry and flaky. Here are five simple ways you can keep your skin hydrated and healthy this winter.

Drink enough fluids

Hydrate yourself at regular intervals and drink enough fluids such as water, fresh fruit and vegetable juices.

Apply sunscreen

The winter sun might feel good, but it is important to protect your skin from the harsh rays of the sun. Apply a sunscreen thoroughly before stepping out.

Avoid long hot showers

This might seem challenging, but take short showers as the hot water can strip off the moisture from your skin.

Eat foods rich in omega-3 and vitamin A

Change your diet with the changing season. Consume food rich in omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin A to boost the supply of nutrients in your body.

Moisturise your skin

Apply a thick lotion or a body oil all over your body after a hot shower to lock the moisture into your skin.
