6 natural ways to get thicker hair

Maintaining a proper hair care routine is essential to get thicker and voluminous hair. Here are some ways to do so.

Massage your scalp

Massaging your scalp with natural hair oils such as almond, castor, amla, or rosemary oil is excellent for your scalp. It helps increase blood circulation and stimulates your hair follicles, which boosts hair growth and gives you thicker hair.

Opt for chemical-free shampoo

Wash your hair with a mild and chemical-free shampoo to prevent weak and thin hair. Wash your hair by massaging your scalp to get rid of dirt and dandruff and moisturise the hair follicles.

Use a conditioner

Applying conditioner during hair wash is vital as it helps remove tangles and smoothens your hair texture. It prevents dry and brittle hair and helps increase the thickness of your hair.

Avoid washing hair with hard water

Washing hair with hard water can harm it as excess minerals such as calcium, magnesium and chlorine can settle on it and make it thin and brittle. Instead, opt for clean and filtered water to wash your hair.

Air dry hair

Avoid blow drying your hair as it can lead to hair fall. Instead, opt for the air-drying method. Use a cotton towel to soak excess water from your damp hair and leave it open to dry naturally.

Eat healthy food

Consuming food rich in omega-3 fatty acids and proteins, such as vegetables, fruits, lentils, legumes, nuts, and seeds, is excellent for boosting hair growth and getting thicker hair.

Exercise and practice yoga

Exercising and practising yoga asanas such as downward dolphin pose, headstand and forward bending pose can help boost blood circulation to your scalp, promote hair growth and thicken your hair.
