Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the Budget 2023 on February 1 and introduced several new schemes for socio-economic development
Here is the list of new schemes announced in Budget 2023-24
PM Vishwakarma Kaushal Samman is a scheme dedicated to traditional artisans and craftsmen, generally referred to as Vishwakarma
This scheme is conceived to help them improve the quality, scale and reach of their products with financial support and access to advanced skill training
This mission is conceptualized to improve the socio-economic state of vulnerable tribal groups (PVTGs)
The aim of this mission is to saturate PVTG families and habitations with basic facilities
PM Programme for Restoration, Awareness, Nourishment and Amelioration of Mother Earth will incentivise states and UTs to boost the balanced use of fertilizers
This project with an outlay of ₹2,200 crores is visioned to boost the availability of disease-free and quality planting material for high-value horticulture crops
It is created to saturate important government services like health, education, nutrition, etc in blocks after the success of the Aspirational Districts Programme Scheme
This programme will boost research and innovation in pharmaceuticals and to encourage the industry to invest in research and development
Launched under Environment (Protection) Act, this scheme promotes behavioural change in protecting the environment by sustainable and responsive actions
The government will launch this initiative for promoting the conservation values of locals towards wetlands over the next 3 years
This scheme will also enhance carbon stock, bio-diversity, income generation through eco-tourism for local communities
This one-time small savings scheme will provide Mahila Samman Savings Certificate to girls/women
It offers deposit facilities to girls and women up to ₹2 lakh for 2 years and a fixed interest rate of 7.5% with a partial withdrawal option
