Schumacher made his F1 debut in 1991 and qualified 7th at the Belgian Grand Prix. He was taken up by Benetton at the last minute and won his first F1 race in 1992

Not only was it his first Grand Prix victory in 1992, but he also finished third in the last Mexican Grand Prix which was his first podium finish

He won his first World Championship in 1994. That year was full of tragedy as it marked the death of Roland Ratzenberger and Ayrton Senna in separate accidents

Micheal had already won the first 5 out of 6 races that season but Benetton was suspected of technical irregularities

This led to a two-race ban and a disqualification in the Belgian Grand Prix. Micheal then collided with his closest opponent, Damon Hill in Adelaide

He won his first-ever World Championship by just 1 point. In 1996 Schumacher joined Ferrari along with Ross Brawn and Rory Byrne from Benetton
