Potato gnocchi for a tasty treat

Cheese – grated

Flour – 150 gm

Egg (optional) – 1 beaten

Potato – 4 big sized

Gnocchi Ingredients

Dried parsley/ thyme (optional)

Butter – 1 tablespoon

2 large garlic cloves minced

Half cup heavy cream

Cornstarch – 1 tablespoon

Mushroom – 100 -150 gm finely chopped

Mushroom sauce ingredients

Make holes in the potatoes using a fork, brush oil, sprinkle salt and pepper, bake. Alternatively, you can also boil the potatoes with salt

When they cool down, de-skin and mash them properly. Make sure there are no lumps

Add beaten egg (optional), salt, pepper, and grated cheese in the mashed potato and mix properly. Add flour and turn the mixture into a dough. Make sure it is neither too sticky nor too tight

Slice the dough into 4 parts. Roll one part into a long rope, cut into small pieces

Turn a fork and place it on a surface, sprinkle some flour on it. Slide each gnocchi squares from the base of the fork prongs to the top to give them their shape

Boil water with salt in a deep bottomed pot. Add gnocchi in batches and boil till they float to the top

Heat up a dry skillet, add mushroom and a pinch of salt. Once the moisture evaporates add a little butter, garlic, and fry until they turn golden brown

Add heavy cream and let it boil. Once it reduces, add milk and let it simmer. Then add 1 tablespoon of cornstarch by mixing it in a cup of water. Stir until it thickens

Pour the sauce over gnocchi and serve
