A consortium led by film producer Boney Kapoor, Bayview Projects LLB, has outbid others led by actor Akshay Kumar and producer Bhushan Kumar to build the Noida Film City, spread across 230 acres alongside the Yamuna Expressway.

The Noida Film City project is a pet project of Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath. It will be over 1,000 acres (230 acres in first phase) of land along the Yamuna Expressway.

The developer will get 90 years to develop this project spread on 1,000 acres in Sector 21, located near the Jewar airport site, the DPR has said.

Of the 230 acres, 155 acres are reserved for the core film industry, while 75 acres are designated for commercial development.

The Film City will include a cinema museum, a film university spread across 20 acres, a helipad and factories, manufacturing sets, costumes, and props on 15 acres.

Bayview Projects LLB emerged as the company offering the highest revenue share to the state government and was thus selected as the developer for the greenfield project.

The latest bid for the project was floated on September 30, 2023, with January 5, 2024, as the deadline. June 2023 was the third time that the bid for the development of the Film City had been floated after two previous attempts failed to attract investors.

Bollywood filmmaker Boney Kapoor, whose consortium company Bayview Projects LLP, has won the bid to construct Film City off Yamuna Expressway, will sign a concession agreement with Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) in June 2024 and take possession of the 230 acres in Sector 21.
