Neeraj Chopra wins gold at World Athletics Championships 2023

Athlete Neeraj Chopra claimed the top spot at the World Athletics Championships 2023 by winning gold in the men's javelin throw in Budapest on August 27

His five attempts were 88.17m, 86.32m, 84.64m, 87.73m and 83.98m following a foul in the first throw in the final on Sunday

His second throw however, turned out to be the winning one as he managed to throw the javelin to a distance of 88.17m

Neeraj's competitor, Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem finished second behind him with 87.82m and Czech Republic's Jakub Vadlejch finished third with 86.67m

Neeraj was awarded a cash prize of $70,000 and a gold medal
