PV Sindhu to lead Indian contingent at BWF Singapore Open 2024

According to the news agency ANI, Indian badminton player, PV Sindhu is set to spearhead the Indian contingent at the Singapore Badminton Open 2024 BWF Super 750 tournament. 

The ace shuttler will lead India in Singapore Open after her excellent participation in Kuala Lumpur's Malaysia Masters recently.

India's Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy will be playing in the men's doubles competition. The two are aiming for their third title of the season after the French and Thailand Open.

The Singapore Badminton Open 2024 tournament will feature the two Olympic singles champions Viktor Axelsen and Chen Yufei.

Viktor Axelson won the Malaysia Masters men's single title on May 26, ousting Malaysian champion Lee Zii Jia in the final to register his Olympic win at the Paris 2024 Summer Games.

Axelsen will play first against India's Lakshya Sen, the Commonwealth Games champion.

China's Wang Zhiyi, who beat India's two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu for the Malaysia Masters title, will be the seventh seed in the tournament.
