Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) win WPL 2024

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) won Women's Premier League (WPL) trophy for the first time after beating Delhi Capitals (DC) on March 17, 2024 in New Delhi.

Delhi Capitals skipper Meg Lanning won the toss and opted to bat.

Sophie Molineux struck thrice in the eighth over and removed Shafali Verma for 44 runs and Jemimah Rodrigues and Alice Capsey for zero.

Shreyanka Patil dismissed Meg Lanning for 23 runs, Minnu Mani for 5 runs, Arundhati Reddy for 10 runs and Taniya Bhatia for zero.

Sobhana Asha took two wickets and removed Marizanne Kapp for 8 runs and Jess Jonassen for 3 runs.

The first innings of the final match got over with Delhi Capitals scoring 113 runs in 18.3 overs.

In the second innings, DC bowler Shikha Pandey dismissed Sophie Devine for 32 runs as RCB reached 49/1 in 8.1 overs, in their chase of 114 runs.

Minnu Mani removed RCB captain Smriti Mandhana for 31 runs.

RCB reached 115/2 in 19.3 overs, winning the Women Premier League 2024 final by eight wickets.

Ending 16 years of drought, the RCB franchise clinched their maiden trophy with a WPL title haul and posed for photographs.

RCB received INR 6 crore as prize money, while DC earned INR 3 crore for finishing runners-up.
