Sunita Williams was selected as a NASA astronaut in 1998. She is a veteran of two space missions and has spent over 322 days in space.

Currently, Sunita Williams is living and working aboard the International Space Station as part of Expedition 71/72.

On June 5, 2024, Sunita Williams launched aboard Boeing's Starliner spacecraft for its first crewed flight.

Before her space missions, Sunita participated in NEEMO2, where she lived underwater in the Aquarius habitat for 9 days.

Her first space missions were Expeditions 14/15, followed by Expeditions 32/33.

During these, she served as Flight Engineer and Commander aboard the ISS, gaining significant experience in space operations.

Williams has completed 50 hours and 40 minutes of spacewalks, making her second in total cumulative spacewalk time by a female astronaut.
