8 lesser-known facts about the Constitution of India

The Constitution of India is one of the most unique and fascinating documents.

Let’s uncover 8 lesser-known facts about it.

The Constitution of India is the longest-written Constitution in the world.

It originally had 395 Articles, 22 Parts, and 8 Schedules when it came into effect.

Unlike most documents, the Indian Constitution was handwritten and not typeset.

It was written in both English and Hindi, containing about 90,000 words.

The Constitution was carefully handcrafted by artists from Shantiniketan under the guidance of Acharya Nandalal Bose.

The calligraphy was done by Prem Behari Narain Raizada in Delhi.

The original copies of the Constitution are kept in special helium-filled cases at the Library of the Parliament of India to protect them from damage.

According to the Indian Constitution, each part of the document features an illustration depicting a scene or phase from India's national history.
