Fascinating facts about Pluto’s planet status

In 2006, Pluto was reclassified as a dwarf planet by the International Astronomical Union (IAU).

This happened because other objects can cross Pluto’s orbit.

Pluto is a unique world with diverse features, including mountains, valleys, plains, craters, and glaciers.

It lives in the Kuiper Belt, a distant area beyond Neptune in our solar system.

Pluto was found in 1930 and was thought to be the ninth planet for many years.

After other similar objects were found far away, Pluto was reclassified as a dwarf planet.

Pluto is small- about 1,400 miles wide- and very cold, too cold for life.
