Meet the world’s biggest spiders

Discover the world’s largest spiders and their incredible sizes.

According to BBC, the Goliath birdeater is the largest spider in the world. It can weigh 175g and has a leg span of up to 30cm.

Known for its huge leg span of 30cm, the Giant huntsman spider (Heteropoda maxima) is one of the biggest spiders ever recorded.

Females of the Brazilian salmon pink birdeater (Lasiodora parahybana) can weigh over 100g, with legs stretching up to 28cm.

With a leg span of around 23cm, the Brazilian giant tawny red tarantula (Grammostola anthracina) is very calm.

Famous for its golden markings, the Chaco golden-knee tarantula (Grammostola pulchripes) can grow legs up to 20.3cm long.

The King baboon spider (Pelinobius muticus) has a leg span of up to 20cm and a tough, hairy body.
