ChatGPT down: Thousands report outage with OpenAI's chatbot; ‘unable to load conversation’
Thousands reported a ChatGPT outage Wednesday in the US, with over 14,000 Down Detector complaints citing “conversation not loading” errors.
Thousands of users in the United States reported an outage with OpenAI's chatbot, ChatGPT, on Wednesday afternoon. At the peak of the outage, more than 15,000 users reported that they are getting “conversation not loading” error with ChatGPT.
The graph on the website of DownDetector shows that the outage peaked around 12:23 p.m. ET on Wednesday and lasted for about 30 minutes. Since then, users have intermittently reported issues with the platform on Down Detector.

As of 6:44 PM ET on Wednesday, more than 2,000 users are still reporting issues with ChatGPT, as can be seen in the graph.
Many users on social media also complained about facing issues. Most of the complaints seemed to come from the United States where the outage happened, primarily. Though, users in other countries also reported issues.

“everyone running to twitter to check if chatgpt is down,” one user wrote.
“ChatGPT down... aaaaand I'm fired,” joke one.
“Everyone running to X to see what ChatGPT is down,” said one, sharing a meme.
As of now, there has been no word from ChatGPT on the brief outage on Wednesda afternoon.
