Pro-Palestinian protesters rattle White House fences, chanting cuss-word to Joe Biden
Pro-Palestinian protesters attempt to tear down White House fence in violent protest.
On Saturday night, a group of Pro-Palestinian protesters chanted “f**k Joe Biden” and tried to tear down a fence outside the White House.
The Secret Service said they evacuated non-essential staff from the area as the protest became more violent.
A video captured the protesters shaking the fence so hard that it came loose in one part. Secret Service officers resisted the protesters and prevented them from entering the White House grounds.
‘F**k Joe Biden’
The protesters threw water bottles and flag sticks at the officers and attempted to climb over the fence.
They shouted, “F**k Joe Biden!” and “Break it down! You support the murder of children!”
A protest caused some minor damage to the anti-scale fencing outside the White House, but the main fence and nearby buildings were not affected, according to The New York Post.
“U.S. Secret Service support teams quickly fixed the issues on site,” said Lt. Paul Mayhair.
“For safety reasons, we temporarily moved some media and staff members who were close to Pennsylvania Avenue while we dealt with the problem.”
No one was arrested at the time of writing this article.
Biden has always backed Israel
The Secret Service had put up the fencing a few hours before the protest, which was the final destination of a march through Washington DC, demanding an end to Israeli violence in Gaza. The protest attracted thousands of people, who held signs that said, “No votes for Genocide Joe,” “Biden has blood on his hands” and “Let Gaza live.”
Biden has backed Israel and authorized an “emergency sale” of almost 14000 rounds of tank ammunition worth $106M to the country last month.
The protest focused on the high number of deaths in Gaza that have resulted from Israel’s retaliation to Hamas’ surprise attack on Oct. 7, which targeted Israeli civilians.
The Health Ministry in Gaza, which Hamas controls, reported that more than 23,800 people in Gaza — mostly women and children — have died in Israel’s counteroffensive.
Israel went to war after Hamas launched an unprecedented attack across the border on Oct. 7, which killed about 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and kidnapped 250 others
It is estimated that 132 hostages are still in Hamas’ custody.
