US State Dept approves possible sale of fighter jet spare and repair parts to Taiwan

The Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in the United States (TECRO) has requested to buy non-standard components, spare and repair parts.

The U.S. State Department has approved a possible foreign military sale to Taiwan of fighter jet spare and repair parts for $330 million, the Pentagon said late on Thursday.

"The Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in the United States (TECRO) has requested to buy non-standard components, spare and repair parts, consumables and accessories, and repair and return support for F-16, C-130, and Indigenous Defense Fighter (IDF) aircraft; U.S. Government and contractor engineering, technical, and logistics support services; and other related elements of logistics and program support," the Pentagon said in a statement.
