Five policemen were injured when a suicide bomber blew himself up during a raid on a suspected Islamic State terrorist’s hideout in Turkey’s Gaziantep town near the border with Syria.

G-20 leaders are meeting near the Mediterranean city of Antalya for a summit overshadowed by the Paris attacks.

A statement issued by the Gaziantep governor’s office said that the raid was conducted on Saturday. The suicide bomber detonated his explosives when police broke down the fifth-floor apartment.

Two women have been detained in the raid while three children were taken into state protection.

Police seized explosive materials and several machine guns during the raid.

The raid came hours after Turkish soldiers clashed with IS militants who fired at them near Gaziantep. Four militants were killed in the encounter.

However, it was not clear if the two incidents were connected.
