Abhishek Sahu: From Small-town Teacher to Renowned Physics Educator and Educart Author
When teaching becomes a passion, success is bound to show up sometimes in the form of prosperity, other times in the form of societal upliftment, and most of the time by winning laurels. In the case of Abhishek Sahu, a 27-year-old CBSE class 12 physics educator, it is the taste of all three. He earned all this through his YouTube channel, which goes by his name, 'Abhishek Sahu,' which currently has 721K subscribers and is still counting.
He has also launched an app, ‘Abhishek Sahu Sir Physics,’ offering paid Physics courses for class 12.
Adding another feather to his cap, Sahu recently launched his first book, One Shot Physics Question Bank, for class 12 in collaboration with a renowned publisher, Educart, a subsidiary of the Agrawal Group of Publications.
Talking about the book, he said that the book comes with a unique feature, i.e., concept maps for every chapter. The book also contains handpicked important questions from NCERT books and Exemplar, the most commonly asked questions in previous years, and competency-based questions based on the latest CBSE pattern 2024-25.
We analysed this book and are glad to discover that it stands true to its name- One Shot. This book is all a class 12 student needs for Physics.
Here is a sneak peek into his newly launched One Shot Question Bank
Sahu has kept the cost of the book very minimal so that all his students who don't come from financially sound backgrounds could also afford it.
“What I am today is all because of my students' love, so I never want my students to lag in their studies due to financial problems”- said Abhishek while talking about the price of the book.
More About Abhishek Sahu
Abhishek is a native of Dabra, a small town in the Gwalior district in Madhya Pradesh. He attended school in his hometown and graduated with a B.E. (Mechanical streams) degree from RGPV University in 2017.
Throughout his academic journey, he had been an average student. When talking about his childhood, Abhishek became nostalgic. He reminisces how he would teach her sister on a small whiteboard that his father had bought for them and later how he, in the process of teaching his sister, developed a passion for teaching.
Abhishek started his YouTube channel in 2018. At that time, he was a novice to the concept of an online whiteboard. While preparing the lecture video, he struggled a lot initially, but eventually, with the constant support and motivation of his family and students, he evolved along the process and has come a long way.
Sahu also runs private coaching in his hometown 'Dabra' where he teaches students Physics for a very minimal fee. He runs two batches that have a total of 200 students.
In his Instagram bio, Abhishek mentions 'Ethics>>>>Money'; when asked about this, he revealed that he provides free coaching to financially weak students. He said- ‘There are many students who are very brilliant but are left behind due to a lack of resources and financial constraints. I want to help those students achieve their dreams without taking the pressure of financial burden.
When asked how his passion for teaching started, he said he had liked physics from his school days but had never thought of taking it to the next level. Until the day when he went karting with his friend, the idea of making a career out of something he loved occurred to him.
It happened when he passionately explained the complex physics involved in kart racing, like inertia, acceleration, and downforce, to his friends, who were not even from a science background in a palpable way. Then and there, he decided to teach students physics in a way they understood. And after that, there was no looking back for him.
