APS Delhi Cantt Hosts Three-Part Educator Webinar Series on 21st-Century Teaching Skills
Army Public School (APS), Delhi Cantt, in collaboration with Educart, recently held a three-part online training series aimed at enhancing core teaching practices in line with NEP 2020 goals. The webinars, spread across two days - May 21 and May 22 of 2025, brought together seasoned educators and teacher trainers to guide school faculty through hands-on strategies related to critical thinking, emotional engagement, and effective school-home communication.
Each webinar was part of Educart's ongoing CPD (Continuing Professional Development) initiative, designed to upskill teachers across India. The sessions were moderated by Nishant Lakra, Head of Academics at Educart.
The series kicked off with a thought-provoking session on “Critical Thinking” led by Dr. Sonika Chauhan on May 21. Dr. Chauhan walked teachers through frameworks like Think-Pair-Share and Frayer Models, while also encouraging them to embrace classroom confusion as a path to deeper learning. Her message resonated with attendees: “Critical thinking isn't just answering better - it's about asking better questions."
On the morning of May 22, Preeti Singh took the virtual stage to conduct a highly interactive session on “Happy Classrooms”. With a focus on well-being, student-teacher rapport, and joy in learning, she demonstrated how mindfulness, student agency, and classroom routines can create an environment where students feel seen, safe, and inspired. Teachers shared stories of classroom challenges, and in response, received practical, research-backed suggestions to boost morale and motivation in their students.
The final webinar, held on the same afternoon, addressed a topic often overlooked: “The PTM Challenge” - with educator Ranjana Rai leading the discussion. Through the lens of real-life case studies, Ms. Rai helped teachers reimagine Parent-Teacher Meetings as collaborative, goal-setting conversations rather than conflict points. She walked attendees through scenarios involving difficult conversations and shared empathy-driven scripts and de-escalation techniques.
Teachers responded enthusiastically, using tools like Padlet and live polls to participate in case reflections and group discussions. Many appreciated the session's practical approach to a challenge they face regularly, with one participant noting, “This is the first time PTMs were discussed as learning opportunities for teachers too.”
The three webinars were widely praised for their relevance and timeliness. In total, over 150 teachers participated. School leadership expressed satisfaction with the content delivery and affirmed interest in further collaboration with Educart for future training modules.
Through this professional learning series, APS Delhi Cantt has demonstrated its continued investment in empowering teachers equipping them with the skills, empathy, and clarity needed for 21st-century classrooms.
