Oscar Public School, New Delhi Hosts Insightful Workshop on Classroom Management with Ranjana Rai

Oscar Public School took a proactive step toward enhancing everyday teaching practices by organizing a dynamic and hands–on workshop on Effective Classroom Management, in collaboration with Educart, a leading name in educational training and teacher resources on May 30, 2025.

The session was led by renowned trainer and educator Ms. Ranjana Rai, who brought decades of practical, classroom insights to the table. Attended by 28 teachers from different departments, the free 2-hour workshop tackled one of the most pressing challenges teachers face today–managing classrooms full of students while ensuring complete & meaningful engagement.

Despite it being the last working day before the summer break, the energy in the room remained high throughout the session.

Ms. Rai began the session with a series of interactive activities to break the ice and spark reflection on current classroom practices. She highlighted how minor changes in teaching approach, student grouping, and classroom arrangement could significantly impact attention levels and student behavior.

Teachers were also guided through live demonstrations of how rearranging seating and incorporating open ended questioning can reduce disruptions and increase participation. One of the key focuses of the session was the importance of advance preparation and student involvement.

Ms. Rai emphasized techniques such as encouraging students to read lessons ahead of time and using role play activities, particularly in subjects like Social Science, to make historical events and personalities more relatable. These approaches, she noted, not only improve comprehension but also boost student confidence and speaking skills.

“Classroom management isn't about discipline alone, it's about designing an environment that invites participation, curiosity, and ownership,” Ms. Rai explained during the session.

Teachers were also introduced to strategies for managing mixed - ability classrooms, where students learn at different paces. From grouping methods to differentiated questioning and personalized feedback, the session offered realistic, implementable solutions tailored to the day-to-day challenges educators face.

Teachers noted how the session helped them reframe classroom challenges not as obstacles but as opportunities for creativity and empathy.

The session was coordinated and moderated by Ms. Akanksha Saluja from Educart, who ensured the discussion remained collaborative and grounded in real classroom scenarios. The school’s representative, Ms. Shilpa Sharma, expressed gratitude for the initiative and shared her hope of having more such training sessions in the future.

Educators left the session feeling empowered, equipped with practical tools and fresh perspectives to manage their classrooms more effectively. For many, the biggest takeaway was the realization that classroom management is not about control but about connection and that even small shifts in mindset and strategy can make a big difference.
