On June 22nd, 2025 - in a strong push toward enhancing learner engagement in classrooms, Educart hosted an interactive teacher training workshop in Bengaluru on the theme “Learner Engagement Strategies in the Teaching of English.” The session was conducted by Ms. Ruchi Sengar, a renowned CBSE Subject Expert and Master Trainer in ELT and Competency-Based Education. The workshop was moderated by Ms. Sonali Khosla, Editorial Head at Educart.

The paid session brought together English teachers from CBSE schools across Bengaluru, all committed to upgrading their instructional methods to create more engaging, inclusive, and student-centered learning environments—aligned with the objectives of NEP 2020 and NCERT frameworks.

Throughout the two-hour workshop, teachers explored how to transform textbook-heavy lessons into interactive, reflective, and meaningful experiences for students. The session emphasized before-during-after reading strategies such as:

  • Predictive prompts to build curiosity before reading
  • Visual mapping and discussions to enhance comprehension
  • Post-reading reflections that connect learning to real life

Participants also explored hands-on learning activities using selected NCERT English chapters (Classes 9–12), allowing them to step into the student’s shoes and experience firsthand how thoughtful planning and questioning can change classroom dynamics.

One of the standout moments of the day was the Strategy Application Challenge, where teachers applied a chosen engagement technique to a lesson they already teach. This task sparked creativity, peer exchange, and deeper insight into lesson design.

In the final segment, Ms. Sengar shared constructive feedback methods that help students reflect on their progress and improve with clarity and motivation—shifting the focus from correction to growth-based learning.

“This wasn’t a passive session,” shared one teacher. “We were involved, thinking, doing. I’m going back with ideas I can apply tomorrow.”

The workshop was not only insightful but also deeply practical and energizing, reinforcing the importance of active teaching and reflective practice in today’s classrooms. Educart extends heartfelt thanks to Ms. Ruchi Sengar for her expert facilitation, and to all the enthusiastic educators who joined the session.

This event marks another step in Educart’s ongoing mission to empower teachers across India through high-impact, classroom-ready CPD programs that are aligned with modern pedagogy and future-ready education goals.
