On 14th June 2025, Geetanjali Olympiad School, Bangalore, in collaboration with Educart, conducted a vibrant and insightful workshop on “Happy Classroom” - a concept that emphasizes emotional wellness, engagement, and joyful learning. The session was led by Mr. Yelsin Wilson, CBSE Resource Person and PGT Physics at Marigold International School, Bengaluru.

The workshop centered around a simple yet powerful idea: happy teachers make happy classrooms. Through a mix of interactive activities, live demonstrations, and reflection-based discussions, teachers explored how to create emotionally safe spaces where students feel motivated and connected. The session brought fresh energy into the room as educators took part in vocal and physical activities designed to boost collaboration and attentiveness mirroring the kind of classroom environment today’s students thrive in.

Mr. Wilson shared strategies for making everyday learning less stressful and more joyful, including small but impactful changes like using humour, music, classroom bonding rituals, and mindfulness routines. These techniques weren’t just talked about, they were practiced, making the learning experience truly hands-on.

“The biggest takeaway was that a positive teacher presence can transform a student’s experience. We often focus on curriculum, but the way we deliver it matters just as much,” shared one of the participants.

The workshop was warmly received, with active participation and enthusiastic feedback from teachers. Many described it as both refreshing and relevant, especially in the context of increasing mental health concerns among students and staff alike.

Ms. Sangeetha, Management In-Charge at Geetanjali Olympiad School and workshop coordinator, expressed her appreciation for the session and shared her plans to organize more such initiatives in the future. “Workshops like these remind us that learning should be joyful for students and teachers alike,” she said. This event marks another step in Educart’s ongoing commitment to professional development through meaningful, practical training that helps educators lead with empathy, creativity, and heart.
