Educart, SKF, and Agastya Foundation Join Hands to Transform Career Planning for Class VIII to X Students
Gurugram, 1st December 2025 A CSR initiative was launched by Educart after understanding the career guidance gap which existed amongst the students of the underprivileged section of the society.
The initiative was started in partnership with SKF and Agastya International Foundation in the government schools across Gurugram for Class VIII and X students. Limited awareness and challenging backgrounds left students confused about their career choices.
The main objective of the career guidance session was to bring career clarity amongst them and their parents and this was meant to be created through a blend of orientation session, psychometric test, counselling session and one-to-one guidance.
"There is no better way to enable and encourage less privileged learners to pursue mainstream programs," says Ripul Agarwal, Managing Director, Educart. "These students have potential; they just need direction and someone to believe in their choices."
Contribution of All Parties
The initiative was started when SKF challenged Educart if it could cater to the needs of the students who have limited access to resources.

- Agastya International Foundation opened doors for Educart in the government schools through their already established connections.
A Multi-Phase Approach to Career Guidance
The programme was structurally designed through multiple phases to ensure that guidance reaches properly to every individual and has a long-term impact on the learners.
- It started with an orientation session where the learners were made aware about the purpose of the career guidance session. Students familiarised with the importance of career planning.
- Then a psychometric test was conducted to understand their interests and aptitudes.
- Following the psychometric test, there was a counseling session which served as the main guidance session where students' results from the psychometric tests were discussed.
- This was the final segment of the career guidance programme (one-to-one) wherein every learner was counselled individually on the basis of their interest and strengths and were offered ways to move ahead in their choice of career.
Strong Participation for Stronger Initiative
The collaborative planning, the outreach via posters, banners and whatsapp messages, and the strong institutional support made this initiative a huge success. The results led to willful participation of the students in the programme with nearly 90% attendance was recorded across sessions.
Furthermore, teachers observed a visible shift in the engagement of the students as the programme progressed. Many students expressed themselves and felt heard as their thoughts about their career and dreams were being discussed.
Why Does This Matter Now?
Students today are required to make crucial academic decisions at an early stage, often without access to proper guidance, especially in under-resourced communities. Limited exposure and socio-economic constraints leave many capable learners unsure of their options, risking missed opportunities and unrealised potential.
Providing guidance at key stages such as Classes VIII and X is extremely important. Timely career guidance helps students and parents make informed choices, builds confidence, and ensures that aspirations are supported before they are restricted by circumstance.

The career guidance programme helped students gain clarity on their interests, strengths, and career pathways through psychometric assessments and personalised counselling. As sessions progressed, students became more confident and engaged, while teachers observed a clear shift from confusion to informed and realistic career opportunities.
