St. Francis Convent School and Educart Host Webinar on Competency-Based Pedagogy to Equip Teachers for Real-World Learning
In a major step towards redefining classroom teaching and assessment, Educart, in collaboration with St. Francis Convent School, Agra, hosted a teacher training webinar on “Competency-Based Pedagogy and Question Design” on August 11, 2025. The session was led by CBSE Resource Person Ms. Shruti Pandey and moderated by Mr. Nishant Lakra, bringing together over 80 educators from across the region.
The webinar opened with a thought-provoking premise: “The way we teach should mirror the way we assess.”
Ms. Pandey urged teachers to move beyond rote memorization, shifting the focus to application, analysis, and creativity - the skills students truly need in a rapidly changing world.
A central theme of the workshop was the three pillars of learning - Knowledge (what), Skills (how), and Attitudes (why) - with true competency lying at their intersection. Through interactive discussions, educators examined how lesson planning and question design could align more closely with these pillars to produce deeper, more lasting learning.
Participants also explored global perspectives on education reform, drawing inspiration from international best practices to make classrooms more learner-focused and outcome-oriented. Practical strategies for creating authentic, measurable, and application-driven assessments were shared, enabling teachers to integrate competency-based methods into their existing curriculum.
Key Highlights of the Webinar:
- Hosted by Educart as part of its ongoing CPD initiative for Indian educators
- Emphasized aligning teaching methods with assessment patterns
- Encouraged moving beyond rote memorisation to higher-order thinking skills
- Introduced the three pillars of learning: Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes

The session closed with a call to shift from “covering the syllabus” to “mastering competencies”, ensuring that students are not just prepared for examinations but for life beyond the classroom.
By facilitating this workshop, Educart reaffirmed its commitment to equipping teachers with future-ready pedagogical tools that align with NEP 2020 and global education trends. As the demand for critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving grows, such initiatives ensure Indian educators remain at the forefront of modern teaching practices.
