Guru Harkrishan Public School, Vasant Vihar Hosts Empowering Workshop on Critical and Creative Thinking!
On July 5th, 2025, Guru Harkrishan Public School, Vasant Vihar collaborated with Educart to host an engaging teacher training workshop on the theme “Critical and Creative Thinking.” The session was conducted by Ms. Nidhi Bhagra, a seasoned CBSE Resource Person, and moderated by Mr. Inderpreet Singh. With the active participation of 56 teachers and the consistent involvement of the school’s Principal, Ms. Sukhwant Kaur, the workshop marked a significant step toward transforming teaching practices to align with the evolving educational landscape envisioned by NEP 2020.
The two-hour session aimed to equip teachers with tools to move beyond traditional lecture-based teaching and towards inquiry-driven, reflective, and student-centered learning. Through a series of thoughtfully designed activities, Ms. Bhagra introduced educators to practical ways of cultivating critical analysis and creative problem-solving skills among students.
Key elements of the workshop included:
Strategies to embed open-ended questioning and design thinking in lessons
Techniques for promoting collaborative learning and brainstorming
Frameworks for encouraging divergent thinking and multiple perspectives in discussions
Hands-on activities that demonstrated how these methods can be used across subjects and grade levels
Teachers not only participated enthusiastically but also shared reflections on how these approaches could be adapted to their classroom realities.
What stood out in the session was the school leadership’s visible commitment to professional development. Ms. Sukhwant Kaur, the school’s Principal, stayed engaged throughout the session encouraging dialogue, observing teacher participation, and reiterating the importance of continuous learning in today’s teaching environment.
Participants expressed appreciation for the balance of theory and practice in the workshop. One teacher shared, “This wasn’t just about learning new terms, it was about reshaping how we think about learning itself. The session gave us ideas we can apply from the very next class.”
This workshop reinforced the idea that critical and creative thinking aren’t separate subjects, but essential components of every learning experience. It highlighted how small shifts in instructional design can empower students to become independent thinkers, problem-solvers, and lifelong learners.
Educart extends sincere thanks to Ms. Nidhi Bhagra for leading a deeply enriching session and to the leadership and faculty of Guru Harkrishan Public School, Vasant Vihar for creating a space that values innovation, collaboration, and teacher growth.
With sessions like these, schools continue to take meaningful strides toward nurturing classrooms that are not only academically strong but also imaginative, thoughtful, and truly future-ready.
