How Mansi Sharma, a Devoted Wife and Mother, Shattered Gender Stereotypes and Became a Top CBSE Maths Educator and Author
Changing careers and following a different trajectory requires courage and hard work, especially for Indian women who are married and mothers to newborn babies. Something similar is the story of 30-year-old YouTube educator Mansi Sharma, one of India's top CBSE math educators and mother of a 2.5-year-old child.
Mansi, originally an Accounts professional, successfully shifted her career to an online Educator teaching Maths to CBSE students of secondary class, inspiring many women who aspire to pursue a new profession after becoming wives and mothers. She is now blazing a trail for those seeking the courage to choose a different career path.
Sharma teaches Maths to CBSE students in classes 9 and 10 through her YouTube channels. Although she runs several YouTube channels as per the class, one channel called 'Class 9 Maths & Science', with 1.12M subscribers, is exceptionally famous among students. Students love her teaching style and how she simplifies complicated Maths concepts into a very understandable version. They eagerly await her to upload the next lecture, such are the demand and popularity of her videos.
Recently, Mansi announced the release of her book One Shot Mathematics Question Bank for Class 9 in collaboration with a well-renowned publisher and a subsidiary of Agrawal Group of Publications called Educart. This book is launched with a very special feature, which the author claims to be 'the first ever book to have such features'.
One such unique feature of this book is that it contains all the important questions asked by the different schools in their unit tests, half-yearly, and annual exams.
Mansi personally contacted top CBSE schools and requested that they help her implement this idea so that together, they could create a substantial base for class 9 students. Thankfully, they cooperated, and we have the result in the form of this unique book, says she.
Another feature of this book is that it contains all the handpicked questions that are important for CBSE Class 9 from the NCERT Maths book for the same class.
She revealed to us that before writing this book, she researched the problems that students in class 9 face. For this, she interviewed students from different schools and found that most students are struggling with one major problem: how to overcome the boredom of reading such thick books while figuring out what is important from the exam point of view.
She has set the price of the book to a minimum so that even a student who is not financially sound could purchase it.
When talking about the release of her One-Shot Mathematics Question Bank, Mansi Sharma expressed her motivation behind writing this book. Being an average student in secondary school, she reminisced about her struggles with maths during her school days, recalling late-night hours spent poring over textbooks and trying to understand the difficult concepts while juggling familial responsibilities. So, she didn't want the students to juggle the same problems. She also revealed how her years of hard work transformed her from being an average student in secondary school to the topper of her class in her higher secondary schools.
