Educart Hosts Career Guidance Seminar at Modern Public School, Shalimar Bagh on Stream Selection and Global Opportunities for Students
For students in Grades 9 and 10, the question of “Which stream should I choose after Class 10?” often brings a mix of pressure, confusion, and too many second thoughts.
To support students in making this very important decision with clarity and confidence,Modern Public School, Shalimar Bagh hosted a seminar on 5th May 2025, focused on Stream Selection and Global Career Opportunities.
With a growing number of academic options and career paths available today, the session aimed to bust outdated myths, encourage self-awareness, and open students’ minds to the wide world of opportunities — both in India and abroad.
One of the biggest challenges students face today is social pressure + peer pressure + overthinking about what stream they "should" choose. The session addressed this head-on by:
- Breaking stereotypes associated with Science, Commerce, and Humanities.
- Showing how each stream offers exciting career opportunities in the 21st century.
- Motivating students to explore their own interests, skills, and values instead of choosing based on marks or peer pressure.
Whether it’s becoming an engineer, doctor, designer, psychologist, or entrepreneur, the main message was clear: there’s nothing actually as ‘one right stream’, only the right fit for you.
Thinking Global: Opening the World to Students
Another powerful POV of the session was its focus on global opportunities. Students were introduced to:
- International universities that value holistic profiles.
- Scholarship programs that make studying abroad accessible.
- Global summer schools and exchange programs to gain exposure beyond textbooks.
The idea was to help students see the bigger picture about their future — that choosing a stream isn’t just about the next two years, but about building a path that could take them anywhere in the world.
Knowing More About Educational Life After 12th
The session also highlighted how the academic landscape is evolving, with an increasing number of courses available after Class 12. Students were introduced to:
- Fields like data science, behavioral economics, design thinking, environmental law, and media studies.
- Careers that blend multiple interests like tech and art, business and psychology, or science and policy.
- The importance of flexibility in learning, especially in a world where careers are constantly changing.
This gave students a fresh look at what’s possible and why stream selection should be based on curiosity and career vision, not old-school thinking.
More than just information, the session helped students build the right mindset for making academic choices — What subjects energize me? Am I choosing this because I like it or because I scored well? Where do I see myself in 5 or 10 years?
Students were encouraged to talk openly, ask questions, and think for themselves — something that’s often missing in traditional career guidance.
By the end of the seminar, what stood out was not just how much students learned but how they felt. Many students shared that they now felt less pressured and more curious. Some even expressed excitement about careers and courses they had never heard of before.
Most importantly, they left feeling more in control of their choices.
As one student opened up,“I always thought Science was the only safe choice. But now I realise that every stream has its own value — it’s all about where my passion lies.”
A School That Prepares Students for Life — Modern Public School, Shalimar Bagh continues to show that education is not just about academics, but about equipping students for life decisions.
By creating space for these meaningful conversations, Educart is actively building a generation that is aware, ambitious, and future-ready whether their future lies in India or anywhere else in the world.
