Kolkata, September 6, 2025 - WWA Cossipore English School, in collaboration with Educart, hosted a transformative Teachers’ Training Workshop on the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) for School Education and Foundational Stage.

The two-hour free session was led by Sutapa Acharya, a UNESCO-certified Master Trainer, and facilitated by Manish Aggarwal. With 22 teachers in attendance, the session highlighted the importance of equipping educators with strategies aligned to the latest educational reforms in India.

The workshop was designed to bridge the gap between policy and practice, enabling teachers to better understand the NCF’s focus on competency-based education, holistic growth, and student-centered pedagogy.

It created an environment where both primary and secondary educators engaged in collaborative learning, interactive activities, and reflective exercises that strengthened their classroom practices.

One of the most engaging aspects of the workshop was its hands-on, activity-driven format. Teachers were encouraged to rethink conventional teaching methods and embrace play-based, experiential, and inclusive approaches.

The use of the 3-2-1 reflection rule (three key takeaways, two insights, and one lingering question) created a structured way for participants to absorb concepts while encouraging dialogue and peer learning.

Educators also explored how technology integration, arts, and sports can be seamlessly woven into everyday teaching, making lessons not only more engaging but also more impactful for diverse learners.

NCF for Foundational Stage: Nurturing Young Minds

Primary teachers explored the NCF for the Foundational Stage. Sutapa Acharya introduced strategies that focus on the natural curiosity of young learners, making classrooms safe, joyful, and explorative.

Highlights from this section included:

  • Using storytelling, music, and art to strengthen language development.
  • Creating nurturing environments where curiosity and creativity thrive.
  • Promoting social-emotional learning through games and collaborative play.
  • Early numeracy and cognitive skills taught through engaging, activity-based learning.

NCF for School Education: Building Competency and Creativity

For secondary educators, the session emphasized how the NCF for School Education aims to move beyond rote learning and prioritize critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills.

Key takeaways included:

  • Designing rubrics and formative assessments that align with learning outcomes.
  • Integrating arts and physical education as core learning tools, not just add-ons.
  • Encouraging a growth mindset in classrooms, where mistakes are treated as learning opportunities rather than failures.

This segment helped educators reimagine examinations not just as markers of achievement but as reflective exercises for student growth.

The session concluded with a discussion on how the NCF is more than just a document - it is a roadmap for the future of Indian education. Teachers appreciated the workshop’s balance of theory, practice, and reflection, noting that the strategies shared would immediately influence their lesson planning and classroom interactions.

Principal and faculty members expressed their gratitude to Educart for hosting the session and stressed the importance of continuing such professional development initiatives. They highlighted that workshops like these empower teachers to embrace change, innovate in pedagogy, and align their practices with the vision of NEP 2020.

By focusing on both school education and foundational learning, this workshop ensured that educators across levels are prepared to create classrooms that are inclusive, engaging, and future-ready. With initiatives like this, Educart reaffirms its commitment to strengthening teacher capacity and driving meaningful transformation in India’s education system.
