PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya Hosts Educart-Led Design Thinking Workshop to Empower Teachers with Creative Pedagogies
In a major stride toward redefining classroom practices, Educart, in collaboration with PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya, Barrackpore (Army), successfully conducted a dynamic teacher training workshop on Design Thinking on July 31, 2025. Led by CBSE Resource Person Ms. Nandini Das, the hands-on workshop brought together 25 teachers for a high-impact session that emphasized creativity, collaboration, and student-centered problem-solving.
The session kicked off with an interactive exploration of design thinking in education, urging teachers to step beyond rote instruction and adopt empathy-driven methods that respond to real student needs. Ms. Das highlighted how the design thinking process empathize, define, ideate, prototype, test can reshape lesson planning and classroom engagement.
Participants were immersed in group-based prototyping exercises where they tackled day-to-day classroom challenges using innovation and collaborative ideation. This practical approach helped educators reimagine classroom issues not as obstacles, but as opportunities for meaningful intervention.
A key segment of the workshop focused on eliminating language barriers in instruction. Teachers reflected on their own communication practices and learned how to build inclusive environments that cater to all learners especially those struggling with comprehension due to linguistic limitations.
Key Highlights of the Workshop:
- Hosted by Educart as part of its ongoing CPD initiative for Indian educators.
- Introduced Design Thinking as a transformative tool for student-centric education.
- Engaged teachers in hands-on prototyping and ideation activities for classroom innovation.
- Addressed language and communication gaps through empathy-driven solutions.
- Enabled educators to explore real-time implementation of interactive, inclusive teaching models.
- Encouraged reflective and collaborative learning through team exercises and feedback sharing.
Ms. Das also facilitated the application of innovative teaching models where educators practiced integrating design thinking frameworks into lesson plans, assessments, and co-curricular activities. Through case-based learning and peer reflection, teachers walked away with ready-to-implement strategies that support diverse learning needs with empathy and creativity at the core.
The Principal of PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya Barrackpore (Army), Mr. Ashim Nath, shared his appreciation: “We are grateful to Educart for organizing such a relevant and forward-thinking session. Our teachers are now more confident in incorporating design thinking into their pedagogy.”
By hosting this workshop, Educart reaffirmed its commitment to equipping teachers with future-ready skills that align with 21st-century learning needs. As NEP 2020 continues to guide educational transformation, initiatives like these workshops ensure that India’s classrooms remain responsive, innovative, and inclusive.
