In a significant step toward aligning teaching practices with the National Education Policy 2020, SDPS School, Punjabi Bagh hosted a transformative teacher training workshop on Competency-Based Pedagogy and Question Design in collaboration with Educart. The session, held on campus and attended by 17 educators, was led by Ms. Ranjana Rai, an experienced CBSE Resource Person and IB Educator.

The workshop was conducted as part of the school’s ongoing commitment to professional development and curriculum innovation. Over the course of two hours, teachers explored how classroom instruction and assessments can be reshaped to focus on conceptual understanding, application, and critical thinking—the key pillars of competency-based education.

Participants engaged in insightful discussions on aligning Bloom’s Taxonomy with question patterns, differentiating between memory-based and analytical questions, and designing subject-specific assessments that reflect real-world problem-solving. One of the workshop’s most practical elements was the distribution of Educart books, which allowed teachers to study pre-designed question formats and understand how to effectively integrate competency-based objectives into everyday lesson plans.

Throughout the session, Ms. Rai emphasized the importance of shifting from rote-based assessments to outcome-driven evaluation, urging educators to treat every question as an opportunity to promote deeper learning. Teachers were encouraged to view question design not as a formality, but as a powerful instructional tool that directly influences student thinking and performance.

The workshop, held on June 27, 2025, was met with enthusiastic feedback from the faculty. Many teachers noted that the hands-on, example-driven approach helped them connect policy recommendations with real classroom practices. The atmosphere was one of active learning, collaboration, and reflection.

Following the session, school leadership praised Educart’s initiative and reaffirmed their interest in future collaborations aimed at enhancing pedagogical capacity. With the success of this workshop, SDPS School has reaffirmed its role as a forward-thinking institution preparing its educators and students for a competency-driven future.
