4 tips to prevent hair loss in winters

The cold weather of the winter season can lead to hair problems such as dandruff, hair fall and dryness. To prevent hair loss in winters, it is essential to maintain a proper hair care routine.

Here are some useful tips to prevent hair loss in the winter season.

Warm oil massage

During winters, the hair follicles become weak due to slowed blood circulation. Massage your scalp using lukewarm natural hair oils such as almond oil, coconut oil or gooseberry oil to boost blood circulation to your scalp and to strengthen hair follicles.

Avoid hot showers

Washing your hair using hot water can break the chemical bond of your hair, weaken hair follicles and lead to hair fall. Therefore, avoid taking hot showers and instead, use lukewarm water to prevent hair damage.

Dry your hair naturally

Avoid using a blow dryer to dry your hair in winters as doing so can weaken your hair, make it thin and lead to hair fall. Instead, let your hair dry naturally.

Maintain a healthy diet

During winters, the body's metabolism reduces which increases cravings for unhealthy food. However, it is essential to maintain a healthy diet and eat only nutritious foods rich in proteins, vitamins and omega-3 fatty acids to strengthen your hair.
