5 healthy foods to have after your yoga session

Your diet plays a significant role in helping your muscles recover after a yoga session.

You should ideally eat within 30 to 60 minutes of your yoga session to help maximise nutrient absorption and boost recovery.

Here are five healthy foods to include in your post-yoga meal.

Hydrating beverages

Hydrating after yoga is essential to restore the balance of minerals lost due to sweat and to help prevent cramps. You can have water, lemon juice with rock salt or coconut water to replenish and hydrate.

Protein-rich foods

Protein is essential for muscle recovery. Opt for protein-rich foods such as smoothies, eggs, lean chicken or fish in your post-yoga meal.

Healthy fats

Foods rich in healthy fats, such as avocados, nuts, and seeds, help sustain energy.

Antioxidant-rich foods

Foods rich in antioxidants help combat inflammation and boost overall health. Leafy green vegetables, citrus fruits or berries are excellent options for your post-yoga diet.

Vegetable broth

You can have a bowlful of vegetable broth containing carrots, spinach, or cabbage to help make up for your calorie requirement.
