The festival of Janmashtami will be observed this year on September 6 and 7. Here are five tips to keep in mind if you are observing fast

Have a wholesome meal a day before

Make sure to add proper nutrients to your diet a day ahead of the fast to support a healthy digestive system and keep yourself hydrated

Stay hydrated

Keep yourself hydrated throughout the day- to prevent issues like acidity, bloating and constipation

Consume carb-rich foods

Carb and starch enriched foods like sabudana, kuttu ka atta and singhare ka atta can help you stay active throughout the day

Avoid consuming onion and garlic

Apart from avoiding non-vegetarian food in all forms, skip the use of onion and garlic in meals

Eat light

Eat light to avoid any kind of discomfort in the body and to stay awake for a long time to break the fast
