Last year, half of the Prize was awarded to David Card 'for his empirical contributions to labour economics'
The other half was given to Joshua D. Angrist and Guido W. Imbens for 'methodological contributions to the analysis of causal relationships'
Elinor Ostrom was the first woman to be awarded the prize in economic sciences. She was awarded the prize for work on human cooperation
