Highlights: Teenager Jemimah Rodrigues struck an unbeaten 77 to help Supernovas beat Velocity by 12 runs and enter the final of the Women’s T20 Challenge in Jaipur on Thursday. The two sides will face each other again in the summit clash on Saturday as the third team, Trailblazers, who also secured the same two points as Velocity and Supernovas, finished third on the basis of net run rate.

The Supernovas have beaten the Velocity team by 12 runs in this match. The match seemed done and dusted when the Velocity team decided to stop chasing their target and instead book their place in the final by reaching a total of 117. Finally, all the three teams in the competition won one match each, while Supernovas and Velocity finished in the top two places respectively with better net run rates.
Velocity qualify for the final

High praise for Shafali Verma
Velocity batswoman Danielle Wyatt lauded her teammate and 15-year-old Shafali Verma, calling her the next superstar for India after her promising knock of 34 against Trailblazers. “Shafali is going to be a superstar for India probably in a year or so. I think she’ll break into India team. She stood out for me in the nets from day one as soon as we got into nets. I saw this girl batting, didn’t think she was this young but then the coach said she is only 15,” Wyatt said after the match.

Velocity on a high
After their five-wicket win over Supernovas in the tournament-opener on Tuesday, a victory over Velocity would have sealed Trailblazers’ place in Saturday’s summit clash. But it was not to be as Velocity first restricted Trailblazers to 112 for six after opting to bowl and then chased down the target with 12 balls to spare to keep the tournament alive for all the three teams.
