Woman arrested for abetment to suicide of husband, death of paramour in Prayagraj

A 36-year-old woman has been arrested in Prayagraj on charges of abetment to suicide of her husband and the death of her paramour, police said.
To note, the woman’s husband was found dead in the wee hours on Monday following which his brothers killed her paramour who was present at the spot with her.
Post mortem report of her husband later revealed that he had allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself. The woman was then arrested on Tuesday and sent to jail for abetment to suicide.
According to reports, a resident of Dhari village 40-year-old Santosh Kumar’s wife was having an illicit relationship with a married man Rambabu Bhartiya, 41, of Pachdevra village.
Since Rambabu was a friend of Santosh he often used to stay with them at the couple’s house during which he developed illicit relationship with Santosh’s wife.
When Santosh came to know about their relation he raised objection but the duo did not pay any heed to his warnings. Fed up of their relation, Santosh hanged himself on Monday night. Santosh’s brothers alleged that his wife and Rambabu had killed him. In a fit of rage, they attacked Rambabu and killed him.
SP trans-Yamuna Saurabh Dixit rushed to spot and sent the bodies for autopsy which revealed that Santosh had died of hanging.
Santosh’s brother lodged an FIR against his brother’s wife and Rambabu for killing him. Separately, Rambabu’s son Ashish also registered a case of murder against Santosh’s wife and others for killing his father.
Dixit said those accused in the killing of Rambabu were being traced.
