Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan and his wife took the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine Covaxin in Delhi. The health minister was administered the vaccine dose at Delhi Heart and Lung Institute. India opened up the Covid-19 vaccination drive from March 1, 2021. Those over 60 years and within 45-59 years with specified co-morbidities are being vaccinated. The minister's wife Nutan Goel first took the jab after which Vardhan received the vaccine shot.
