Amitabh Bachchan is 102 but full of zest; son Rishi Kapoor not so much. He may or may not have been a rebellious teenager but now as a 70-something man, he has to deal with a father who has plans to make a world record. He wants to send his son to a “vriddha ashram”. Amitabh says with obvious glee: “Ek putra ko vriddha aashram bhejne wala mai duniya ka pehla baap banunga!” That’s Umesh Shukla’s 102 Not Out for you -- a dad-son love story.
The film’s teaser released on Friday and stars Big B as the 102-year-old father and Rishi plays the role of his son, who is 75 years old. The film is based on a Gujarati play by the same name.
Tagged as the “most unusual love story of a father and son”, the film is directed by Shukla who has earlier directed Akshay Kumar-starrer OMG - Oh My God. The minute-long video shows a fun-loving father, essayed by Amitabh, to Rishi’s comparatively quieter son. The two, perhaps, have only each other to look after and call family.
We have already seen both the actors in roles where they play cool, fun-loving dads to youngsters. But pitched against each other, who will emerge as the more chilled-out old man? We will have to wait for the film to arrive. The movie hits theatres on May 4.

Amitabh and Rishi have earlier worked together in several films including Coolie, Kabhi Kabhi, Amar Akbar Anthony and Ajooba.
Bachchan said in a prepared statement to Variety, “I know the country loves the younger, fresh and vibrant new generation – as it should deservedly , but who ever said the ‘oldies’ are not capable to do similar .. we know you may not love us, but given a chance we shall not disappoint you either .. and that is as immodest as I can get.”
“Being in 102 Not Out brought back a lot of fond memories and fun I have shared with Amitji during my younger days. I am glad to reunite with him on such a special and unusual film,” said Kapoor in the same article.
