In 2016, Kannada films Kirrik Party not only won the hearts of the audience, but swept major award shows too. The film directed by Rishabh Shetty is not getting a Telugu remake starring Nikhil Siddharth Simran Pareenja, Simran Hegde and others.

Now, we hear that Bollywood is coming up with its own remake of the campus-comedy. The industry grapevine suggests that Aiyaary actor Sidharth Malhotra will play the role originally essayed by Rakshit Shetty.

According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, sources close to the actor claimed that he loved his part in the film. “Sidharth has had meetings with producer Ajay Kapoor, who holds the remake rights of Kirrik Party, and loved his part. He is yet to sign on the dotted line but is looking forward to start work on this one.”

The writer of Kirrik Party Rishab Shetty and actor Rakshit Shetty have both been sharing reports about Siddharth being a part of the project, adding more fuel to the speculations.

In the meanwhile, Siddharth’s Aiyaary is releasing world wide on February 16, and the actor plays the role of a rogue soldier who goes head to head with his trainer played by Manoj Bajpayee. The Neeraj Pandey directorial also stars Naseeruddin Shah in a pivotal role. The movie is finally releasing on the silver screen after being postponed twice.
