In another two months, Delhi will see a record-breaking ramp event — one with the maximum number of models to walk for a single fashion show.

Delhi-based fashion designer Sanjana Jon’s September spectacle will see around 400 models at the catwalk, beating the current record of 282 models who featured in a fashion show in Bangkok in April last year.

Jon says that the show will promote Indian culture.

"I want to promote the traditions and crafts of all 36 states. I will launch a model hunt across the country for the models. There will be no change of outfit during the show."

The designer says that she came up with the idea when someone suggested that she do the world’s longest fashion show.

“But most number of models on the ramp sounded better.”

Jon has worked out the formalities with the Guinness Book of World Records.

“They will come to authenticate the show,” she says.
