Fashion week season is back, and this time, two top names from the Indian fashion industry will kick start the seven-day affair. Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) has announced couturiers Anamika Khanna and Rohit Bal as the opening designers for the India Couture Week 2017. Both will showcase at offsite locations on July 24 .

Sunil Sethi, president, FDCI, said, ”Anamika Khanna and Rohit Bal have been the epicentre of the fashion world. They will open the India Couture Week with their trademark grandeur setting enviable trends for a discerning audience.”

Anamika Khanna will showcase a fashion installation titled Luxury 2017 at The Kila, Mehrauli.

On the other hand, Rohit Bal will showcase his designs at Bikaner House. Last year, he closed the couture week with an offsite show at the same location.

Bal’s collection, called Khush Posh, aims at reviving heritage pieces from costume collections of the Mughals “The collection is an ode to lost craft and tradition. A journey from the past to the present with a gentle nudge of contemporary influences,” Bal says.
