The Train Ticket Examiners (TTE) and their superintendents will now be dressed in a grey jacket, grey trousers, white shirt and a red tie. There will be three golden stripes on each sleeve of the superintendent and two stripes on the TTEs and an Indian Railways logo on the breast pocket.

The railway board has issued directions to general managers of all zones informing them about the change in the uniform and has told them to ensure availability at the earliest.

“The issue of redesigning of the uniform was examined by a committee,” reads an order issued by Shelly Srivastava, director (passenger marketing), Railway Board. The order was issued on Wednesday and railway zones have been asked to issue the timeline of the implementation of the change.

“Based on the recommendation of the committee, all zonal railways are advised to provide uniform,” the order reads.

There is no deadline as of now as ordering the clothes will take time. Later, the new uniform might be implemented in other trains also.
