    Photos: 49 killed in shootings at two New Zealand mosques

    Forty nine people were killed at two mosques in the New Zealand city of Christchurch on Friday when at least one gunman opened fire on worshippers, police said. Video footage widely circulated on social media, apparently taken by a gunman and posted online live as the attack unfolded, showed him driving to one mosque, entering it and shooting randomly at people inside. New Zealand Police said the death toll has increased to 49, but it was unclear how many attackers were involved.
