Is Baahubali 3 on the anvil? Not really but the world of Baahubali to continue

Two-year old tweets of SS Rajamouli suddenly resurfaced online in which he talks about making Baahubali 3. However, sources close to the director have revealed that what he meant was that the world of Baahubali will continue. There’s is no Baahubali 3 being made.

Has SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali franchise come to an end? Will we see another film or maybe even a spin-off from the Eega filmmaker? While it’s true that Rajamouli in a series of tweets in 2015 had confirmed that Baahubali will have a third part; however, he didn’t say will it be in the form of a feature film. His two-year-old tweets resurfaced online on Friday and everybody has been writing that there will be a third part and that the filmmaker will commence on the project soon.

Baahubali 2: The Conclusion released on April 28 and has already made Rs 1000 crore worldwide.

When HT did some digging and spoke to sources close to Rajamouli, they denied any such development. Commenting on Rajamouli’s tweet which is doing the rounds, the source said that the filmmaker meant the world of Baahubali will continue. There might be a spin-off based on any of the popular characters but it won’t be made as a film. The source further added that Rajamouli just completed his last leg of promotions for Baahubali 2 with the film’s UK premiere at BFI.

Rajamouli will go on a holiday with his family, according to the source, who further added that he will only start work on his next project from July or August. Meanwhile, his Baahubali 2 has minted over Rs 1000 crore worldwide and counting.
