RIO DE JANEIRO: Security at Rio’s Olympic Village was handed a further blow when Danish athletes revealed they have had items stolen while organisers issued a public apology to competitors who have fallen victim to crime. Meanwhile, China has sent a policeman to Rio to help protect the sporting delegation, media and travelling spectators, state-media said on Thursday, after a Chinese hurdler said he had been robbed. The policeman named Shao Weimin, whose official title is temporary police communication officer, arrived in Rio two months ago to prepare for his role.
