Asian Games Day 7 Highlights: India bag gold in squash, tennis; silver-bronze in men's 10,000m final

India beat Pakistan 10-2 in the men's hockey Pool A encounter.

After lifting 83kg in the snatch round, Bindyarani Devi does decent in the clean and jerk round.

She lifts 109 kg in her first attempt, then tries to lift 113 kg in the second but it is an unsuccessful one. She does manage to lift it in her third and final attempt, which took her total to 196kg.

South Korea have levelled the match at 2-2 against India after Arjun Ramachandran Madathil and Kapilda Dhruv go 16-21, 11-21 down to Kim Wonho and Na Sungseung. The semifinal tie is now down to the deciding Match 5 where Kidambi Srikanth is up against Cho Geonyeop.

Kartik Kumar and Gulveer Singh produce a superb show in men's 10,000m final as they win silver and the bronze medal respectively.

Sutirtha Mukherjee and Ayhika Mukherjee produce a superb show in the fourth game of the women's doubles quarterfinals in table-tennis. China's Chen Weng and Yidi Weng produced a tough fight but it is the Indian pair who prevail and closes the game 11-9. The Chinese pair had four match points to save and they save three before making an unforced error.

The win sends India into the semis, also assuring them of a bronze medal.

Bindyarani failed to lift 83kg in her second attempt, which comes as a huge blow since the DPR Korean lifters had already registered successful lifts over 90kg.

She manages to lift 83kg in her third and final snatch attempt.

The second game was a see-saw affair. The South Koreans started off with a lead before Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chiraj Shetty soared to a 8-5 lead, but then conceded four straight points to allow Minhyuk Kang and Seungjae Seo to level the score at 9-all. However, it was India who gained a two-point cushion at the mid-game interval. They maintained the lead through the second half of the game before the South Koreans threatened to steal it away by levelling the score at 21-all. India sneaked ahead but conceded the next point again. Kang and Seo then gamed set point opportunity twice before converting it on their second chance. The score in the semifinal tie is now level at 1-1.
