This #internationalwomensday we meet Ira Singhal who is a fighter par excellence. Here is her extraordinary story. Ira is living with scoliosis which is a medical condition entailing the deviation of her spine. Owing to this, she has difficulty moving her arm. This condition debars her from being eligible to be an IAS Officer. At 31, this was Ira's fourth attempt at the most competitive civil services exam. Even though Ira had cleared the exam in her very first attempt, she was denied the position on the grounds of physical disability. However, this young lady did not surrender and fought her case ardently at the Central Administrative Tribunal. She eventually won it and got the position in 2014.
