Kota: LS speaker visits hospital with over 70 newborns’ deaths in Dec 2019

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla visited a hospital in Rajasthan's Kota where over 70 newborns have reportedly died in December 2019 so far. Birla, who is also the Lok Sabha Member of Parliament from Kota, reviewed the situation and said that adequate infrastructure should be present at hospitals to ensure such deaths are prevented. Earlier, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot had commented on the situation and said that least number of deaths had taken place in 2019 under his government.
