Israel has reportedly asked Egypt to help in brokering a possible new hostage deal with Hamas. The news comes days after Israel cancelled talks with Qatar by blocking Mossad chief from going to Doha for restarting negotiations. Hamas released around 120 hostages during a 7-day ceasefire which also saw Israel releasing around 240 Palestinian prisoners. But fighting has again engulfed the region after the ceasefire collapsed, resulting in more bloodshed for both sides.
